Cleveland School Remembers (CSR) is working with local organizations and public agencies to promote violence reduction, public safety and youth empowerment. Through a unified effort, we hope to strengthen the awareness and effectiveness of all organizations related to public safety and youth empowerment.
The CSR Local Violence Prevention Program works with local Stockton groups to facilitate a reduction in violence, to create awareness of the impact of gun violence on children, and promote programs to increase youth empowerment. Additionally, we promote local, state and federal legislation to increase common sense gun laws.
We do this by working with the school system and local groups to create alliances, solutions, and programs to address the root causes of violence. Some of our networking and outreach activities are directed toward engaging children and families in conversations about neighborhood violence. Some of these outreach activities include:
- Healthy Kid’s Day
- Earth Day
- Draw it Out
- Other City-wide events
With the high level of violence at the national and local level, we believe that it is important to understand the factors that lead to violence. We are committed to helping to create solutions for young people and the community. By having access to the right resources, young people have a better opportunity to develop positive and productive approaches to life.
