According to the Brady Group’s Children and Guns Report, the United States is home to approximately 300 million guns and the accessibility of these guns has a devastating impact on children.Each year, the massive toll continues to rise. In 2011alone, nearly 20,000 children and youth under the age of 20 were killed or injured by firearms.
That means an average of 53 young people were shot every day—two every hour.
