The Cleveland School Remembers/Brady Group was formed by a group of teachers who were at the Cleveland Elementary School in Stockton, California, in January, 1989, when a gunman with an automatic weapon murdered five students and wounded 32 others, including a teacher.
The CSR/Brady group started as a gathering of six colleagues who met to support each other following yet another school shooting (Sandy Hook School in December of 2012). The group has evolved into an active organization with a mission to use our voices, powered by our unique experience in 1989, to join with other organizations to create sensible gun laws and bring more awareness to violence prevention.
The mission of the CSR/Brady organization and its Million Mom March is to create a safer America by cutting gun deaths in half by 2025.
